Let's begin with a question!

People have had many different gods and many different religions/belief systems over the past several thousand years.

What makes you think that YOURS is the RIGHT one?

After all, we apparently haven't gotten in right in the past. What makes us so sure now? What's to say that things won't be completely different in another couple hundred years?

Discuss.

the government is what is keeping it from changing in all honesty. This is going to sound all conspiracy theory but it's true wether your christian or not. The U.S. government along with the United Kingdom have sworn to keep all E.T. findings, if there were any, secret so that there is not a panic in the spiritually society. If every christian suddenly had 100% proof of no god the world would go crazy. So the government is feeding religions.

Plus it is in the "church's" (Catholic church) best interest to keep Christianity alive...we could ask the Pope but you'd have to find which of his mansions he is at first..

My belief system is what compells me to think this one way is right. There is not a single thing that I base my beliefs on, but a multitude. Most would be shrugged off by non-believers, I get that. But I didn't wake up one day and say "I think I'll start believin". It was a process that happened slowly. I didn't want to be one of these that I hear about who act like they believe, but really don't. I wanted to be one way or the other. So I took my time with it. It was not done in haste. I studied my beliefs. I studied other peoples beliefs.

The death of some religions doesn't mean that there still couldn't be one that is right.

The thing is, I don't believe because of something measurable in the natural sense. However, I believe miracles can and do happen. I wish I could take God out my pocket and present him to you, but I can't. He is not a common being. He has much splendor, plus he wouldn't fit.

Finding E.T. would not panic me. I might even feed him some Reese's Pieces or Skiddles or something.

Every religion promotes itself.

I'm not a fan of the Pope either.

However, I would love to ride around in that little Pope-mobile he has.
